What is Atrantil?

Atrantil as a dietary supplement which can be taken with food to reduce bloating and intestinal discomfort. It contains many natural plant extracts which encourage the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestine. Beneficial bacteria produce less methane which is the major cause for bloating and reduced mobility of food in the intestine. This review examines Atrantil and it’s possible efficiency as well as its cost.

Formula

The proprietary blend is a combination of three plant extracts which the manufacturer will not specify possibly for fear of their product being copied. Understandable as that is, it is not very helpful or forthcoming for potential customers as they may be allergic to any of the ingredients or want to do some of their own research regarding them. According to the manufacturer, one of these plant extracts reduces spasms in the intestine by reducing the effects of neurotransmitters on the smooth muscles present. Another plant extract binds to free hydrogen. Hydrogen is often used to produce methane which contributes to bloating. The third plant extract is an antibacterial specifically against methane producing bacteria called archaebacteria. This ingredient causes does bacteria to burst; or it binds to an enzyme called methyl-coenzyme M reductase. This enzyme is responsible for the production of methane.

The peppermint leaf is also used to decrease spasms by reducing the activity of the smooth muscle in the gastrointestinal tract. Horse chestnut and Quebracho extract act on the blood vessels around the intestine and reduce fluid leakage into the intestinal lumen, thus reducing the chance of diarrhea.

Atrantil – The Bottom Line

The ingredients present in this product appear to be well researched. However, it is unfortunate that the manufacturer is not entirely forthcoming about what the ingredients are. It is commendable that the manufacturer offers a satisfaction guarantee, but we do not believe it is long enough to test the products sufficiently.

The directions for use of this product are a little bit complicated and it is difficult to determine the value of this product because of the range of time it lasts one particular customer. Perhaps a more consistent product should be considered.
